Learn WARDOGS helicopter basics: practice controls, plan a safe drop, manage flares, and turn transport into team value for every squad in the Control Zone.
Helicopter evidence boundary
Transport helicopters are part of the public combined-arms loop, while exact controls and fuel rules remain build-sensitive.
Creator videos are useful for observing takeoff, drop, and flare behavior, but they are not a replacement for the current in-game keybind menu.
Practice the hover before carrying the squad
Use the current practice space or an empty session to learn throttle, yaw, forward speed, and the camera relationship. Creator footage confirms transport helicopters are bought and used to move squads, but the official pages do not publish a universal keyboard map. A transport helicopter is unforgiving when the pilot is still discovering which input moves the nose and which input slides the aircraft.
Take short flights first. Lift, stabilize, turn, land, and repeat. The goal is not a stylish loop; it is a predictable pickup and a controlled drop when the ground is busy.
Ask for a drop that gives the squad a next move
- Ask the squad to mark a landing or drop point with cover nearby.
- Approach with enough altitude to change direction, but not so much that the team has to parachute into an unknown roofline.
- Call the exit before touchdown: north road, warehouse, ridge, or fallback building.
- Leave before the aircraft becomes a stationary target unless the team has a clear reason to keep it.
- Return for recovery only after the squad confirms seats and a safe route.
Treat the aircraft as a shared budget
A helicopter can earn value through transport, resupply, and keeping a squad connected to the objective. It can also burn the team’s money when it is thrown into a predictable anti-aircraft lane or left without a way home.
Buy the ammunition and defensive tools you actually need before leaving base. If the transport gets players to the zone, tips and support rewards can make the job worthwhile; the landing itself is only half the delivery.
Five beginner pilot errors
- Flying straight to the brightest marker without a turn-away plan.
- Landing on the objective when a short hover-drop would keep the aircraft alive.
- Using flares early, then having none left for the exit.
- Leaving the squad without a recovery route or seat check.
- Buying the aircraft but forgetting its ammunition or the cost of the next life.
