Explore the WARDOGS map: the large battlefield, randomized 2 × 2 km Control Zone, Hot Zone pressure, travel routes, and what remains unconfirmed.
Published map scale
The useful map fact is the relationship between the full battlefield and the small area that actually scores.
The published figures do not yet constitute a complete named-location atlas. Treat third-party interactive maps as community work until the developer confirms the layout.
Read the big map as a route system
The public figures describe a large 256 km² battlefield with a randomized 2 × 2 km Control Zone as the active focus of a match. Team17 also describes a smaller Hot Zone that pays double cash, making the center of the fight valuable without making the rest of the map irrelevant.
That gap between the full field and the active objective creates room for transports, flanks, construction, and recovery routes. It also creates the most common beginner mistake: travelling too far for a fight that has already moved.
| MAP LAYER | WHAT IT MEANS | PLAYER QUESTION |
|---|---|---|
| Full battlefield | Movement, staging, and alternate routes | Where can we approach safely? |
| Control Zone | The area that earns score | Who has bodies inside? |
| Hot Zone | A higher-value pressure point | Can we hold it without overextending? |
Plan the return trip before the push
Before leaving cover, identify your next rally point, the nearest vehicle route, and the building or ridge that can support a revive. The strongest route is rarely the straightest line; it is the one your squad can repeat when the first vehicle is gone.
- Use transport when the objective move is longer than a safe infantry rotation.
- Keep one person watching the route behind the squad; the map is wide enough for a third team to arrive late.
- Treat high ground as information, not ownership. A good angle still needs a way back into the zone.
What the public map record does not confirm
A map size does not reveal every named location, road layout, destruction state, or rotation rule. Those details can change during testing and Early Access. This page tracks the scale and the decision model without inventing a complete map atlas.
