Learn how to build an FOB in WARDOGS: choose cover, place a useful forward base, support the Control Zone, and avoid wasting construction resources.
FOB evidence available now
FOBs and fortification are part of the public WARDOGS pitch, but building costs and exact placement controls are not published as a final table.
Community footage supports the idea of building around a route. Keep the placement advice tactical, not a claim about an undocumented construction menu.
Choose a base that makes the next move cheaper
FOBs and fortification are part of the public WARDOGS feature set, while exact build costs and placement controls are not published as a final table. Start with three questions: can the squad reach it safely, can a downed player be recovered nearby, and does the position still matter if the Control Zone shifts? A base beside a road, building, ridge, or supply line usually has more value than a lonely fortification in open ground.
Use natural cover first. Construction should close a dangerous gap or make a useful hold more repeatable; it should not announce the squad’s location with a structure that cannot be defended.
Build the smallest useful position
- Mark the likely route and tell the squad what the FOB is for.
- Place the first piece where it protects the approach or the recovery lane.
- Check lines of sight from the enemy approach, not just from inside the base.
- Keep one path open for a vehicle or a player carrying supplies.
- Stop when the base supports the job. Save resources for the next rotation.
Know when to defend and when to abandon
Construction has a cost, but sunk cost is not a reason to hold a dead position. If the objective has moved, the route is compromised, or a third team has turned the base into a trap, call the retreat and build closer to the next useful line.
