Use WARDOGS' current squad and voice-play facts to invite friends through the live Steam or test-build social menu—without guessed UI labels.
What is confirmed about squad play
The team layer is real; the exact invite button labels are not documented in the public materials yet.
Use the current Steam or test-build social flow. Do not publish a guessed keybind or pretend a community tutorial is an official UI specification.
Create a squad before you queue
Use the current Steam friends flow or the social menu shown by the active test build to form the group. Public materials confirm proximity voice and teamplay rewards, but they do not publish a permanent button name, squad-code format, or keyboard shortcut. Confirm that everyone is in the same group before the queue starts.
Make one person the route caller for the first match. They do not need to be the best shot; they only need to say where the squad is going, when the squad is holding, and when the squad is leaving.
- Open the current social or squad panel from the main lobby.
- Use the live Steam or in-game invite action; do not rely on a menu label from an older video.
- Check that each friend has joined the same voice channel and sees the same queue state.
- Queue only after the squad agrees on a first drop and a fallback route.
Assign simple jobs instead of rigid classes
The fastest way to make a small squad useful is to give each player a job for the next five minutes. One person can watch the approach, one can carry medical supplies, one can handle transport, and one can make the push. Swap jobs when the zone moves.
| JOB | DO THIS | CALL THIS OUT |
|---|---|---|
| Route caller | Pick the next piece of cover | “Move on my mark” |
| Recovery | Carry bandages and watch downed players | “Revive is safe / not safe” |
| Driver or pilot | Plan the exit before the drop | “Seats clear, leaving” |
| Anchor | Hold the squad’s rear or flank | “Rear is open / contact” |
Use the right voice layer for the right distance
Squad communication should carry short, private decisions: the next cover point, a revive call, a vehicle request, or a retreat. Proximity voice is a local layer that can include nearby players and enemies, so keep sensitive information out of it.
If the group is silent after the first drop, test the channel with one clear callout. A working mic is useful, but a disciplined ping and a shared route are better than constant noise.
- Name direction first: north, left ridge, roofline, or behind the vehicle.
- Use one action per callout: push, hold, revive, resupply, or extract.
- Say when a route is closed. Silent danger makes a squad split faster than a bad aim duel.
Stay together without moving as one blob
A squad can spread across a building, a road, and a flank while still moving as one unit. Keep a short recovery distance, agree on a rally point, and avoid starting a vehicle or objective push before everyone knows the plan.
When a life ends, the squad’s job is to make the next spawn useful. Rebuy only what solves the next route. A quick regroup with a cheap kit is often stronger than a solo return with the expensive one you just lost.
