Wardogs Wipe: Season Reset, Gold Bars, and Season 3 Timing

Bulkhead has described a wipe since before launch, and the only official statement is more specific than the community summaries around it: cash and XP reset at the end of a season, your cash converts automatically into gold bars, and those gold bars plus your cosmetics stay on the account permanently. Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026, but its patch notes say nothing about a reset, a conversion, or gold bars — and this page keeps the plan, the launch, and the open questions apart. The newest official word is the studio's 17 October 2026 statement: the Season 2 wipe “never really landed”, no reset will happen this weekend, and Season 3 is being looked at for a significantly earlier release “so you get a proper fresh start” — with no date published.

Wipe facts and open questions

BULKHEAD's April plan resets cash and XP at a season's end and converts cash into gold bars, while gold bars and cosmetics stay. Season 2 is live from 15 October 2026, and no official notice — including the Season 02 patch notes — says what resets.

The end-of-season reset and the cash-to-gold-bars conversion come from BULKHEAD's "Early Access & Beyond" video of 7 April 2026. Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 after the announced 08:00–09:30 UTC maintenance window; the official Season 02 Patch Notes of 14 October 2026 document content, equipment and match systems only and mention no reset, cash conversion or gold bars. Whether Season 1 progress resets with Season 2, and whether the Gold Exchange is live, are unconfirmed as of 15 October 2026.

01
01 / SHORT ANSWER

Yes, a season-end wipe is the plan — and Season 2 shipped without confirming one

Bulkhead's plan is a reset at the end of each season. In the studio's “Early Access & Beyond” video, published 7 April 2026, Bulkhead says: “At the end of a season, your cash and XP progression will reset with your cash auto converted into gold bars.” The stated reasons are to put newer players on a more level playing field with veterans, and to let the studio overhaul progression during Early Access.

The same passage gives the other half: “Your gold bars and cosmetics from a season will stay permanently on your account across seasons.” That is a wipe of what you earn inside a season, with one permanent currency carried out of it.

What it is not is a confirmed wipe, and the moment for that confirmation has now passed. Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 after a maintenance window from 08:00 to 09:30 UTC, so the event a reset would attach to has happened. The Season 02 Patch Notes, published on 14 October 2026, cover weapons, equipment, vehicles, buildables, a rain weather preset, Gold Market camos, and match systems — and the notes reviewed for this page do not mention a season-end reset, a cash conversion, or gold bars. Silence is not a denial, but it is not a confirmation either, and treating the launch as a confirmed wipe is a guess this page does not make.

The picture moved on 17 October 2026: in a PCGamesN report, Bulkhead said the Season 2 wipe “never really landed” — with some players reaching tier-four armor and MBTs within days — and that it is looking at significantly bringing forward Season 3 “so you get a proper fresh start.” Read against the April plan, the next reset now points at Season 3's start, with no date published; the detail is in section 04.

02
02 / WHAT RESETS

Cash and XP progression reset when a season ends

The April statement names two things that reset. Cash resets, but not into nothing: it is converted automatically into gold bars. XP progression resets. The video says “cash and XP progression” and does not separate role tracks from the Career ladder, which is where a large part of the community confusion starts.

Cash persisting from match to match is confirmed separately and is not in question — that is how the in-game economy works today. What is unconfirmed is the season-end conversion itself, because the feature it depends on has not been shown to be live (see section 05).

  • What the plan says: at a season's end, cash resets and is converted automatically into gold bars, and XP progression resets.
  • What that means in practice: you do not lose the value of your cash outright — it changes currency — but you do lose your standing on the seasonal ladder and the route that levelling gives you through unlocks.
  • What is not stated: the conversion rate, whether role-track XP and Career level reset together, and whether paid item unlocks survive a season's end.

The Season 1 changelog from 9 September 2026 adds one relevant detail: each season has a different XP curve and a different item unlock order. That is why a reset matters beyond the level number — the route back through progression can change shape from one season to the next. The current seasonal record is on the Season 1 page.

03
03 / WHAT YOU KEEP

Gold bars and cosmetics stay permanently on the account

The April video is explicit about what survives: “Your gold bars and cosmetics from a season will stay permanently on your account across seasons.” Two categories are named, and both are tied to the account rather than to the season.

  • Gold bars: the currency your cash converts into. Per the April plan they stay permanently across seasons.
  • Cosmetics bought with gold bars: skins and other cosmetic items stay on the account permanently as well.
  • Player Skills: described in the same plan as “permanent account value across seasons”. Bulkhead listed it as planned with no release date, and in August 2026 said it had not shipped — so it is a plan, not something to rely on in the current build.

Two things are deliberately missing from that list, because the sources do not establish them: item unlocks you paid for and Supporter Pack or other DLC items. The April statement does not mention either, and no later statement checked for this page settles whether they carry across a season's end.

04
04 / SEASON 2 · LIVE 15 OCT 2026

Season 2 is live, and no official notice says it resets Season 1 progress

If the April plan holds, a season's end is when the reset happens, and Bulkhead's launch-day recap on 11 September 2026 said “we have our first season running right now.” Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 — so the question has moved from “which date?” to “did it happen?”, and the answer is still not official.

The announcements that bookend the launch do not answer it. The 22 September 2026 Steam News teaser gave only the date and asked players to stay tuned. On 30 September 2026, Update 0.1.2 described Season 02 as a larger content update and promised more information the following week. The 10 October 2026 devlog previewed the content without mentioning progression. And the Season 02 Patch Notes of 14 October 2026, which document what the season actually ships, list weapons, equipment, vehicles, buildables, weather, camos and match systems — with no reset, no cash conversion and no gold bars anywhere in them.

Since launch, the first Season 2 change this site has logged is a balance one: the blue-team cash and XP bonus removed by emergency update on 16 October 2026. Whether a season reset comes with it stays tracked on this page, not assumed from it.

The answer sharpened on 17 October 2026. In a PCGamesN report, Bulkhead acknowledged that Season 2's accelerated progression was “the wrong call”, that some players reached end-game gear like tier-four armor and MBTs within days, and that as a result “the wipe never really landed.” The studio also confirmed it “won't be doing a knee-jerk reset this weekend, as that would be unfair on everyone already enjoying the climb” — so no out-of-cycle wipe is coming ahead of the weekend of 17–18 October 2026.

What replaces it is a moved-up season: Bulkhead says it is “looking at significantly bringing forward Season 3 and some of its content, so you get a proper fresh start.” Read against the April plan — a reset at each season's end — the next wipe now tracks Season 3's start rather than a mid-Season-2 date. No date, window, or wipe mechanics for Season 3 are published, so the timing stays unconfirmed. The studio's full post-mortem is on the Season 2 page, and the statement's log entry is on the update log.

05
05 / GOLD EXCHANGE

The half of the plan that protects your progress is not shown to exist yet

The reset only works the way it is described if there are gold bars to convert into. Bulkhead's plan puts them in a Gold Exchange where you trade banked cash for gold bars at a rate that “will fluctuate daily”, as part of the metagame it said it would build during Early Access.

The problem is timing. In its “10 Reasons NOT to Buy” video on 11 August 2026, the studio said it had not delivered the metagame yet, and in March it described persistence at Early Access launch as “just your cash.” In other words, the piece of the plan that protects your progress is the piece that is not confirmed in the shipping game.

  • The exchange rate: said to update daily. The April screen showing the Gold Exchange is labelled “Representative – not final”, so the rate shown there is a mock-up, not an official figure.
  • Described behaviour: gold bars are bought by exchanging cash for them, and they buy cosmetics. Bulkhead has also said it plans never to sell gold bars or cash for real money.
  • What is unconfirmed: whether the Gold Exchange is live in the current build. No source checked for this page confirms that it has shipped.

One creator-level detail is worth keeping separate: a wipe guide reports that gold-bar exchanges cannot be resold or refunded, so once cash is exchanged it stays as gold. That is a community statement about the exchange UI, not an official rule quoted from Bulkhead, and it is repeated here with that label.

06
06 / THE ONE RESET ALREADY LIVE

Patch 0.11 resets cash and XP — as a penalty for exploit abuse, not a wipe

Separate from any season, there is a reset in force today, and it is a penalty rather than a wipe. Bulkhead's Patch 0.11 notice says that abusing cash exploits brings a timed ban and that “we will reset your cash and XP to 0”.

Two boundaries matter. First, it applies to the account that was caught, not to everyone — it is enforcement, not a scheduled season event. Second, it is the only reset that appears anywhere in the game's published Steam news, which makes it the one reset a player can actually point to as executed. The full wording is on the Patch 0.11 page and the economy context is on the money guide.

07 / UNCONFIRMED

The questions Bulkhead has not answered, checked 18 October 2026

None of the sources checked for this page publishes any of the following. They stay open rather than guessed:

  • Whether Season 1 progress resets with Season 2. Season 2 is live as of 15 October 2026, and neither the launch announcement nor the Season 02 patch notes address a reset.
  • The cash-to-gold-bars conversion rate at the end of Season 1. The April Gold Exchange screen is labelled representative, not final, and no confirmed rate exists.
  • Whether role-track XP and Career level reset together, or only one of them. Development posts have pointed in both directions; the April video does not separate them.
  • Whether paid item unlocks survive a season's end. Not mentioned in any source used here.
  • Whether progress carries from Early Access into 1.0. The April statement is about seasons inside Early Access; nothing checked here addresses the full release. Bulkhead's own estimate is one to two years in Early Access.
  • When Season 3 starts, and whether it carries the reset. The 17 October 2026 statement says Season 3 is being brought significantly forward “so you get a proper fresh start”, but publishes no date and does not restate the April cash-and-XP reset mechanics for it.
  • How long a season lasts. One creator reports that a Bulkhead CEO post on X put Season 1 at about a month, and that later seasons would be decided case by case. That is a relayed statement from a studio account, not a formal announcement, and it is the level of sourcing this page will give it.

Nothing in that list is a prediction. Each line is either a plan from April 2026 that may have changed, or a question no official channel has answered as of 18 October 2026.

08 / OFFICIAL TIMELINE

From the April plan to the Season 2 launch

  • 7 April 2026: the “Early Access & Beyond” video describes the end-of-season reset, the automatic cash-to-gold-bars conversion, and the permanent retention of gold bars and cosmetics.
  • 9 September 2026: the Season 1 changelog states that each season gets a different XP curve and a different item unlock order.
  • 11 September 2026: Bulkhead's launch-day recap says “we have our first season running right now,” dating the start of Season 1.
  • 22 September 2026: the Season 02 teaser gives the start date, 15 October 2026, and asks players to stay tuned. No reset detail.
  • 30 September 2026: Update 0.1.2 describes Season 02 as a larger content update and promises more details the following week.
  • 10 October 2026: the “Road to Season 2” devlog previews the season's content — weapons, vehicles, weather, an experimental Wager Vendor — and still says nothing about progression.
  • 14–15 October 2026: the Season 02 Patch Notes are published and Season 2 goes live after a maintenance window from 08:00 to 09:30 UTC. The notes document weapons, equipment, vehicles, buildables, rain, Gold Market camos and match systems, and contain no mention of a season-end reset, a cash conversion, or gold bars.
  • 17 October 2026: Bulkhead tells PCGamesN that the Season 2 wipe “never really landed” — tier-four armor and MBTs were reachable within days — rules out a knee-jerk reset that weekend, and says it is looking at significantly bringing forward Season 3 “so you get a proper fresh start”. No date is published.

The gap is partly closed: the 17 October 2026 statement ties the next fresh start to an earlier Season 3, but it still does not restate the April mechanics — the cash conversion and the gold bars — for that reset. The most recent update log is on the updates page.

09
09 / FAQ

The wipe questions people actually search

Will Wardogs wipe?

Bulkhead's plan is a reset at the end of each season. In its 7 April 2026 “Early Access & Beyond” video the studio says that at the end of a season your cash and XP progression reset, your cash is automatically converted into gold bars, and your gold bars and cosmetics stay on your account permanently across seasons. It has not restated that plan since, and the Season 02 announcement does not mention a reset. The 17 October 2026 statement goes one step further: the Season 2 wipe “never really landed”, and the next fresh start is tied to a Season 3 the studio wants to bring significantly forward — date unannounced.

Will Season 2 reset my progress?

Not confirmed. Season 2 is live as of 15 October 2026, and the April plan says seasons end with a cash and XP reset — but the Season 02 Patch Notes of 14 October 2026 cover content, equipment and match systems only, and never mention a reset, a cash conversion, or gold bars. On 17 October 2026 Bulkhead added that the Season 2 wipe “never really landed”, ruled out a knee-jerk reset that weekend, and said it is looking at bringing Season 3 significantly forward as the real fresh start — with no date published. Until Bulkhead says what happens to Season 1 progress, whether the launch wiped it is not established.

Do gold bars carry over?

In Bulkhead's plan, yes: “Your gold bars and cosmetics from a season will stay permanently on your account across seasons.” The caveat is the same as everywhere else on this page — the plan describes the intent, and the Gold Exchange that turns cash into gold bars has not been confirmed as live.

Does anything reset right now?

Yes, but only as a penalty. Patch 0.11 states that abusing cash exploits brings a timed ban and a reset of cash and XP to zero for the account caught. It is not a seasonal wipe and it does not affect players who did not exploit.

Does Early Access progress carry into the full release?

Not established. The April statement is about seasons inside Early Access, and nothing checked for this page says whether progress carries from Early Access into 1.0. Bulkhead's estimate is one to two years in Early Access, and anyone stating what happens at 1.0 is not quoting the studio.

Should I stop playing before the reset?

That is a player decision, not a fact this page can settle. The one thing the record supports is that cash value is described as converting into a permanent currency rather than disappearing, while seasonal XP progress is described as resetting. Whether that trade-off is worth continuing to play for is yours to judge, and the details of the conversion are not yet published.
