Wardogs Season 2 is live from 15 October 2026; Bulkhead admits the fresh start never landed and is bringing Season 3 significantly forward. Date TBA.
Season 2 facts, dated 17 October 2026
Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 after a maintenance window from 08:00 to 09:30 UTC. The official patch notes add four weapons, four vehicles, rain, three buildables and eight Gold Market camos — and state that the Wager Vendor is not available at launch. Post-launch, the blue-team cash and XP bonus that shipped with the season was removed again by the emergency update of 16 October 2026.
Everything above comes from the official Season 02 Patch Notes, published in Steam News on 14 October 2026, and the launch window those notes announce; Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026. The Wager Vendor is explicitly not available at launch. Items the 10 October 2026 devlog previewed but the patch notes do not restate are listed, labelled as preview-only, in section 11. The blue-team bonus removal is documented in section 12 from the 16–17 October 2026 reporting, and the Driver progression fix it covers is confirmed but not detailed.
Season 2 is live: it launched on 15 October 2026 after a 90-minute window
Yes — WARDOGS Season 2 is live, and it launched on 15 October 2026. The studio ran a scheduled maintenance window that day between 08:00 and 09:30 UTC, estimating roughly 90 minutes of downtime before the new season went live. The patch itself arrives as a Steam update, so if the client has downloaded it, you are on the Season 2 build.
Everything in sections 02 to 11 is taken from the official Season 02 Patch Notes, published in Steam News on 14 October 2026, together with the launch window those notes announce. Where the notes give a figure, this page repeats it; where they do not, this page says so instead of filling the gap. Sections 12 and 13 are the exception in kind: they record what changed after launch, from the reporting of 16–17 October 2026, and are dated as such.
The one structural oddity of the release is worth stating up front: a feature headlined in the notes is not in the build. The Wager Vendor is listed as opening later in Season 2, and the notes repeat that it is not available at launch. Details are in section 08.
Four new weapons: TCX-SPR, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra, M14
Four new weapons were added, one per class:
- TCX-SPR — assault rifle.
- PP-19 Bizon — SMG.
- Evo-3 Ultra — LMG.
- M14 — marksman rifle.
They ship alongside a new set of attachments: additional optics, muzzle devices, magazines, and bipods. The notes list the individual attachments lower down in the post rather than summarising them, so the exact models are the ones to read there — this page does not name any that the notes do not.
No damage, recoil, range, or suppression figure for any of the four is published in the notes. That means the launch-week question — which of these is worth its price — has no sourced answer yet, and the existing weapons reference and the best guns breakdown deliberately keep their previous ordering instead of inventing a new one.
Molotov, a battery-powered Range Finder, and a heavier Level 4 helmet
Three changes to carried equipment were confirmed in the same section:
- Molotov — a thrown incendiary that splashes fire on impact and burns anyone caught in it. It can be thrown overarm or underarm, deals impact damage, and the flames deal damage over time if you are standing in them. It also burns destructible foliage, and it is affected by rain (see section 06).
- Infrared Range Finder — now runs on batteries. A battery lasts around 80 seconds of active use, and drains faster if you rapidly toggle it on and off. This closes a loop opened on 3 October 2026, when the device was pulled from the vendor “until Season 2” — the return is the battery change, recorded on the update log.
- Helmets — the Level 4 helmet now has muffled audio, a restricted field of view, and fogs over while you sprint. Level 3 and Level 4 helmets also gained increased suppression resistance, aligned with the new suppression updates, so the heavier helmets pay for their protection in ways beyond damage reduction.
The helmet change is the one to plan around: the trade is no longer only cash and weight, it is hearing and peripheral vision. Nothing in the notes converts that into a number, so the practical answer at launch is to test the fog and the field of view yourself before building a loadout around the Level 4.
Four new vehicles, from the Wolf-110 to the Flakpanzer Gepard
Four vehicles were added, split between light transport, armour, and anti-air:
- Wolf-110 — a fast, light wheeled transport.
- Wolf-110 (M2) — the same vehicle with a ring-mounted M2 Browning.
- T-72B3 — a main battle tank. The notes give the trade plainly: it is slower than the L2A6, but cheaper and slightly more fuel-efficient.
- Flakpanzer Gepard — an anti-air vehicle.
The T-72B3 is the one that changes squad economics rather than raw pace: a cheaper, more frugal tank moves the break-even point on a logistics run, which is the loop covered on the driver XP guide. The Gepard matters for a different reason — anti-air on the ground is the answer to a contested sky, and the helicopter guide is where that threat gets planned for from the other side.
Three new buildables: MG Nest, Large Shelter, Wooden Step
- MG Nest — a manned M2 Browning emplacement.
- Large Shelter — a large metal shelter, for covering key assets or keeping the rain off.
- Wooden Step — described in the notes, without embellishment, as “a step. Made of wood.”
The Large Shelter is the one with a second purpose now that rain is a live weather preset: a roof is shelter from more than ordnance, and a destroyed roof lets the rain through visually (section 06). Build order and placement logic are unchanged in kind, so the FOB build order remains the reference to read these against.
The rain preset changes sightlines, sound, and fire
A new rain weather preset is the environmental headline, and the notes describe both how it looks and how it plays:
- Visible wetness: surfaces, vehicles, and characters are visibly wet as rain falls.
- Positional audio: rain sounds different depending on what it is falling on and where you are standing — under cover, indoors, inside a vehicle, or out in the open.
- Damaged roofs: destroy a roof and the rain visually comes through it.
- Synchronised thunder: in heavier rain, thunder rolls in and every player on the server hears the same strike at the same moment from the same direction. It is loud enough to mask footsteps, which the notes frame as something to use strategically.
- Reduced detection: spotting range is affected by rain.
- Fire suppression: Molotov fire is reduced by rain.
Two of those interact with equipment from the same patch. A Molotov is weaker in a downpour, and the thunder is a free sound-masking window that every player gets at once, in the same direction — so it is a cue you can read from the audio rather than a random ambience track. Reduced spotting range shifts engagements closer, which is why the map guide stays the right planning read with tighter sightlines on top.
Eight new camos join the Gold Market, and the Black & Gold AK leaves it
Eight new weapon and vehicle skins were added to the Gold Market, spanning four camo families:
- Black & Gold — Little Bird. Flagged in the notes as the Season 2 Exclusive Gold Market camo.
- Chocolate Chip — Evo-3 Ultra, M14, TCX-SPR. Wraps the new LMG, marksman rifle, and assault rifle.
- Two-Tone Desert — Galil, Mosin, Havoc.
- Digital Wood — M500.
One item was removed in the same pass: the Black & Gold AK camo is no longer in the Gold Market. If it was on a shopping list, the note is the answer — it is gone from the rotation rather than discounted.
No prices, availability windows, or rotation dates for the eight skins are published in the notes, and nothing here says how the removal works for accounts that already own the AK camo. Those stay unstated rather than guessed.
The Wager Vendor is not available at launch — it opens later in Season 2
Do not expect the Wager Vendor on day one. The notes say it twice, explicitly: the Wager Vendor is not available at Season 2 launch and will open later in Season 2. Everything below is therefore announced behaviour, not something you can use today.
What it is: a vendor that lets you bet your own cash on your own performance. You set your own stakes — the framing is “bet on yourself”, win big or lose it all — and a live wager tracker above the minimap shows your stake and your progress. The notes also state it is not a permanent addition: it is intended to come and go throughout a season.
Team-switch limits, team-kill voting, squad intent, and a faster rebuy
Four changes target how a match is played rather than what is carried into it.
Team switching restrictions
Added to stop late switching from deciding matches. Once a team is more than 10 points ahead:
- You cannot switch teams again for 15 minutes after joining one.
- If you switch teams or join a match in progress, your map stays obscured until you reach the control zone for the first time.
- You cannot use the spawn vehicle until you reach the control zone for the first time.
The notes state the intent is to add friction for team-switch abusers while still allowing players to join the team their friends are on.
Team-kill Punish & Forgive
Team killing is now handled by a victim-driven vote. When a teammate kills you, you are asked to Forgive or Punish. Punish results accumulate against a teamkiller and lead to kicks and escalating bans for repeat offenders; Forgive removes a potential mark against the player who team-killed you. One procedural detail matters in practice: respawning and then leaving the safe zone without voting forgives automatically.
Squad Intent UI
Squad leaders can now set a team-visible squad intent from a pre-defined list of entries, and every player can see it on their squad list before choosing to join a squad. Squad invites and other timed prompts now queue instead of competing for attention.
Rebuy Last Loadout
The old placeholder rebuy UI has been removed. Clicking Rebuy Last Loadout now populates the equipment vendor visually with your last loadout, which you can add to or remove items from before purchase, rather than committing blind to the previous kit.
Seeding rewards, pre-match entertainment, and region-based ping limits
Three server-side systems round out the release:
- Server seeding: players who join and populate empty servers earn rewards and a vendor discount once the match begins.
- Pre-match entertainment: available before the match starts, with guns lying around with targets, football, and a hidden radio in each spawn.
- Region-based ping limits: Official servers now enforce different maximum ping limits depending on region, to improve network reliability. Players who consistently exceed a server's ping limit over a sustained period are automatically kicked — a rule the notes say is designed to protect against temporary spikes rather than to punish them. The initial values are described as quite lenient, with the studio saying it will hone them in over time.
The practical note on the ping rule is in its own wording: it is a sustained-exceedance kick, not a spike kick, and the studio expects to tighten the thresholds. If you play across regions, that is the setting to watch — and the server status page remains the place to check a live server picture.
What the 10 October preview announced and these notes do not confirm
The 10 October 2026 “Road to Season 2” devlog previewed a separate team-balance experiment aimed at the blue team, Lonestar: all three teams' spawn points moving on Bakurani, a desaturated Lonestar uniform, win bonuses and multipliers for cash and XP described as Season 2-only, a 20% vendor discount for the team at least 40 points behind second place, and penalties for community servers that abuse faction bonuses.
One of those preview items has since resolved, and in the other direction: the win bonuses and multipliers for cash and XP did ship when Season 2 went live on 15 October 2026 as the blue-team bonus, and were removed again by the emergency update of 16 October 2026 — that sequence is documented in section 12. The rest of the list is not restated in the Season 2 patch notes this page is built from, so those items are kept here as preview-stage intent rather than presented as confirmed launch features. They may be in the build, they may arrive later, or they may have changed — the in-game faction and spawn behaviour is the thing to check, and this section will be revised as soon as an official post restates it.
The Blue Team cash and XP bonus experiment ended on 16 October 2026
Season 2 shipped on 15 October 2026 with a live team-balance experiment attached to the blue team, Lonestar: blue-team players were given +5% game currency and +2.5% XP, as reported by PlayGround.ru. The intent was to pull players onto the least-picked faction. The result was the opposite of a balance correction.
Veteran players moved to the blue team in numbers, unlocked the stronger gear faster, and the matchmaking advantage shifted with them. Instead of levelling the field, the bonus handed a progression shortcut to the players who needed it least — and that is the complaint the studio answered within a day.
On 16 October 2026 Bulkhead CEO Joe Brummer acknowledged the mistake in public. PCGamesN's report opens on the quoted admission “We f***ed up”, the studio's own wording is that Season 2 “got a few things wrong”, and the same report confirms the blue-team bonuses were removed by an emergency update. Rock, Paper, Shotgun, writing on 17 October 2026, states the same outcome in its headline: the team-specific cash and XP bonus experiment ended “after a single, tumultuous day”.
The second complaint in the same coverage is Driver progression moving too fast. The official post acknowledges it and says fixes are being detailed, but no patch-level figures are published — which values changed, by how much, and when the change takes effect are left unstated here rather than guessed. The progression loop itself stays documented on the driver XP guide, which keeps working from its own sources until an official post restates the numbers.
Nothing is being deleted to keep the page current. The preview section above keeps the 10 October devlog's original Lonestar plan, and this section records what happened to it; both are dated, so neither is read as a standing promise. The studio's wider post-mortem on Season 2's progression speed, and the moved-up Season 3 that answers it, is section 13.
Bulkhead's post-mortem: progression was sped up too far, and the wipe never landed
On 17 October 2026, a PCGamesN report carried the studio's own review of how this season's launch went, and the wording is unusually direct: “Season 2 was meant to be a fresh start, and for a lot of you it hasn't felt like one.” The statement continues: “We sped up progression deliberately and tried to balance the game better, as set out in the patch notes, but it was the wrong call. Some players are reaching end-game gear like tier-four armor and MBTs within days, so the wipe never really landed.”
The report also records why the season was tuned that way. CEO Joe Brummer describes the split between “influencers who play all the time”, who feel progression is too fast, and “normal people like dads coming home from work”, who struggle to reach the higher unlocks — “We can't balance for both.” UX Director Howard Philpott puts the same trade-off on the curve: balance it for the players with all the hours, or for the ones without; Season 2 was designed leaning “a little more towards the people with less time”. The cost, per the report, is that the change rapidly restored the late-game feel the wipe was supposed to temporarily strip back. The season's other named mistake, the blue-team cash and XP bonus, was already rolled back on 16 October 2026 — that is section 12, and it is not restated here.
What happens next is stated in the same coverage, and none of it has a date. There is no reset this weekend: the studio “won't be doing a knee-jerk reset this weekend, as that would be unfair on everyone already enjoying the climb.” Balance work continues by triage — “Some things are clearly out of balance and we'll fix them. Others have the community split, so we want to see how those play out first.” The bigger move is that Bulkhead is “looking at significantly bringing forward Season 3 and some of its content, so you get a proper fresh start” — logged with its open timing on the update log. And for the mid-season update 2.5, Brummer pointed to planned “limited” or “primitive” servers (name not final) that cap weapons, equipment, and vehicles to the lower ends of the progression tree, so players can “choose not to play with power weapons” without the studio having to “nerf or overtune them.”
Season 2 launch questions, answered from the patch notes
Is Wardogs Season 2 out?
Yes. Season 2 launched on 15 October 2026, after a scheduled maintenance window from 08:00 to 09:30 UTC with roughly 90 minutes of downtime. The update is delivered through Steam.
What content did it add?
Four weapons (TCX-SPR, PP-19 Bizon, Evo-3 Ultra, M14) with new optics, muzzle devices, magazines, and bipods; the Molotov; four vehicles (Wolf-110, Wolf-110 with an M2, T-72B3, Flakpanzer Gepard); three buildables (MG Nest, Large Shelter, Wooden Step); the rain weather preset; and eight new Gold Market camos. Balance and system changes include the battery-powered Infrared Range Finder, heavier Level 3 and 4 helmets, team-switch restrictions, the team-kill Punish & Forgive vote, Squad Intent, an improved Rebuy Last Loadout, seeding rewards, and region-based ping limits.
Is the Wager Vendor live?
No. The patch notes state it is not available at Season 2 launch and opens later in Season 2. It is also described as a temporary feature that intends to come and go within a season. No opening date is published.
Do the new weapons change the best-gun list?
Not yet on this site. The patch notes publish no damage, recoil, or range figures for the four weapons, so best guns keeps its previous ordering and adds only the fact that the four are now in the build. A ranking without test data would be invented, and that is not what this page does.
Does Season 2 reset my progression?
The Season 2 patch notes do not address a season-end reset, and this page will not infer one. Bulkhead's published plan — cash and XP reset at the end of a season, cash auto-converted into gold bars, gold bars and cosmetics kept permanently — was last stated in April 2026, and the separate questions of what resets and whether the gold exchange is live stay tracked on the wipe page. The 17 October 2026 statement adds one data point: the studio says the Season 2 wipe “never really landed”, and it is looking at bringing Season 3 significantly forward as the real fresh start — with no date (section 13).
